Trunkwell House wedding

It is said that rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. As you know, a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel!

Tradition aside, according to Callie, she doesn’t feel lucky on the day when the sky opened in the morning, and it was what I would describe as a bit of a down pour. Despite the rain, I knew it was  going to be a wonderful day when I saw the decorations for Callie and James’ wedding in the marquee. The beautiful red, white and gold colored decorations are impressive, to say the least; then there is the 3 floor to ceiling mirrors as the backdrop for all of their wedding activities for the day. I was so pleased to see Callie had prepared such a beautiful space for her wedding, I knew the rain would not stop Oli and me from producing some amazing photos for the day.

Trunkwell house is a stunning location for weddings, inside the manor house, there is the beautiful staircase, and I utilized it to the max on the day where I made the group photos, then I was using the stairs to photograph Callie and James with the light coming in from the window.

As the day progressed, the rain stopped, and we were able to fulfill some of the photography Wish list that we came up with during our pre-wedding session at the Trunkwell house a few weeks ago. I am especially pleased with the images outside the house and the confetti shots. The  bridal party and the groom’s men photograph was made using the open field as a backdrop and wooden fence for added creativity.

Rain is never a problem for me when producing fantastic wedding images. Especially with a venue like Trunkwell House that specialized in weddings, is perfect for a day like Callie and James’ wedding.

Kind words from Callie and James

When we first saw Jack at a wedding fair we could not believe the quality of his work and how bespoke the album's looked. From start to finish Jack has been amazing. He made us both feel comfortable and at ease on our big day and during the months before, it was like having a family friend take our photos on the day! We could not be happier with the products we have received. We definitely made the right choice picking Jack as our photographer. We would recommend him to anyone. Thank you for your hard work. Mr and Mrs Mainwaring.

Callie and James' "Uniquely Your" album.

Album size: 12 x 12 inches (24 x 12 when open)

Cover style: gatefold

Cover: image on brushed aluminium in gloss finish, wrapped with genuine leather in red

I already had a clear idea in my head of how I would design their wedding album as soon as I walked in the marquee first thing in the morning of their wedding day. It was obvious that red is the main color used at  the wedding. I incorporated that not only into the design of the album but in the composition and color combination of the photographs as well. However, red is a dominate color, so I had to use it carefully. Especially because it featured a lot in the images already.

I used a lot of blending between the images and discreetly placed red borders around some of the images to keep the theme of the design all the way through the whole album. The result is a “story telling” album with elements that reflect their wedding day.
