St. Paul's Church wedding with photography at St. Mary's lighthouse Whitley Bay
It's hard not to get excited when Chantel told me she would like to visit the St. Mary's lighthouse after the church wedding ceremony. St. Mary's is a very popular beauty spot in the Northumberland coast. I have photographed the lighthouse much time and produced much fantastic fine artwork.
The day starts with Chantel's preparation at her father's house where you could see a hive of activities. I had my second photographer Kevin at the church to photograph guests arriving and Marc with his family and groomsmen. Due to the restriction in the church, I was not allowed to photograph the ceremony itself.
However, the chance to photograph at the lighthouse really made up for it. I brought my vintage umbrella with me for that added magic to the image. It was a misty day with very slight drizzle throughout the day. The umbrella just fits into the feel of the day perfectly.
This was also the wedding that kick-started my fine art approaches to photographing the couple and I have perfected the style ever since. However, this does not mean the little spontaneous and magical moments from the special day was missed. Years of experience made me realise that I should just strict myself to a single style. Different elements/stage of the wedding requires different approaches.

Chantel and Marc were artistic and understood what it takes to make something special. I took the bold decision at using some dramatic design features and using native space to enhance the images on the page.
I have displayed this album at every wedding fairs I have attended and the reaction is always positive. People especially like the creative way I utilise to image for the background and using split colours on the same image. There are elements of more traditional design in the album such as the large single image spread and side by side images for the group and family portraits. However, the addition of the innovative design feature makes it a very special album.
